Oliver Mauricio Funes-Machada is an 18-year-old illegal alien from Honduras.
Funes-Machada called 911 and told dispatchers that he killed his mother “because I felt like it” and admitted to stabbing her “like eight times.”
The first Deputy on the scene recounts the horrific sight as the illegal alien teen walked from the family house “carrying a knife in one hand and a severed human head in the other.”
At the time of the murder, Funes-Machada’s 4-year-old sister and 2-year-old brother were in the home.
At the home, Deputies seized medication prescribed to the young man. The medication is used to treat psychosis and schizophrenia.
ABC11.com originally reported the gruesome killing under the headline, “Franklin County teen who beheaded mother in country illegally.” However, the next day, a second article was published with the headline, “Franklin County teen killed mother ‘because I felt like it.'” The article on the page does not mention Funes-Machada’s immigration status until the fourth-to-last paragraph and completely removes it from the headline.
